Photos from July and August '05 - Trip to Colorado, Geoff's Birthday
For six months, ending just before our trip to Colorado, Gloria took care of Serafina for 12-16 hrs/week. Here they are together:
On July 13th Serafina and I flew off to Colorado to see my family, and Geoff went to Switzerland to visit a friend. Here's Serafina with Sittu, Zadie (my Dad), Mark, and Ellen, joining the music hour at Sittu's nursing home:
We all went up to Aspen, where Serafina had a great time playing in the Roaring Fork River at Heron Park (notice our family in the back left of this first picture. My cousin Anne is the one pointing in the second picture.), then later in the fountain on the mall:
As far as Serafina was concerned, the best part about dinner at Zadie's house was "cooking" in the play kitchen, which Sue had cleaned up for her. Here she is looking hospitable (she often would yell down to us something like, "Uncle Mark, wanna join me for dinner?"), and in the second picture you can see just how stimulating she found this experience: two spoons in one hand, ice cream in hand and mouth, and eyes already on the next thing...
After we all returned home, we celebrated Geoff's 33rd birthday with brunch out with friends. Here's Robert, serafina, and Geoff:
Finally, just today (8/6) I caught a photo of Serafina sitting in her room reading to her baby doll just the way we read to her (she did this on her own):
